Danielle started with Communities in Schools of Federal Way-Highline in 2021 as the Re-Engagement Coordinator at Thomas Jefferson High School. Since then, Danielle has transitioned into the role of School Outreach Coordinator at Thomas Jefferson. Prior to joining our team Danielle worked in the social services field since 2000. Throughout her career Danielle has had the privilege of advocating for low-income minority youth and their families. She worked to ensure they had access to essential services based on their identified needs. She has worked with youth in foster care and the juvenile justice system. Her education, personal and work experiences have provided Danielle with the necessary skills to be successful in coordinating services, building relationships, providing leadership, tackling issues within the public school system and working directly with youth, families, and the Federal Way-Highline community. Through her work, she has developed both competence and confidence in skills.
Although originally from Los Angeles California, Danielle has lived in Washington State for the past 16 years. Completing two military tours in Germany, she has also traveled to many of the states in the US. In her free time, Danielle enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with my family. Danielle’s passion is working with youth and their families, working to ease adjustments during the important and often difficult period in a youth/families’ life. She truly loves having the opportunity to witness seeing people reach their dreams and goals. Danielle joined CIS seeking the opportunity to work one on one with students, to find out what their needs are and help them work on solve them.
