Karina started with Communities in Schools of Federal Way-Highline in 2021 at Todd Beamer High School as the Re-Engagement Coordinator. In 2022, Karina transitioned into the School Outreach Coordinator for Highline High School. Karina graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors’s Degree in Education, Communities, & Organizations and a minor in Diversity. Prior to joining our team, she has worked in non-profit organizations focused on supporting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities. Karina believes having a well-rounded education is key to changing the world and wants to help support new generations of students to become academic scholars by promoting active learning in their everyday lives. Karina is a native Washingtonian from the Tacoma area and loves roller skating, listening to live music, and spending time with friends and family.
