Board Member Renae Seam

As a lifelong resident of Federal Way, Renae is a first-generation Indian-American woman born to immigrant parents. After going through the FWPS, she graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Political Science and an M.S. in Business and Data Analytics and currently works in the financial sector as a risk and data analyst. However, in her free time, Renae has spent years focusing on advancing educational opportunities for children both domestically and internationally and has been involved in several nonprofits focused on at-risk youth and education advocacy. Renae originally joined Communities in Schools as a mentor for a local youth and will now expand her volunteer work to serve on the Board of Directors for the organization.

“I am excited to serve on the Board of Directors for Communities in Schools because I have experienced and understand the positive impacts of focusing on at-risk youth in our communities and how exponential the rewards in economic participation and education can be when providing that stability, mentorship, and focus to the children in need. I hope to bring a fresh perspective to the Board and help create innovative pathways for the organization to continue to provide quality support to our schools and youth.”
